We work on an economy that fulfils its promise of freedom

The economy promises us freedom. Does that promise still hold?

Freedom is the ability to lead a meaningful life. Whether that ability truly exists depends on the conditions people live in: an affordable home, a connection to the electricity grid, clean drinking water.

Freedom Economics Foundation works on an economy that makes this freedom possible. By making freedom a central goal of the economy, we broaden how we look at economy policy: what it delivers, what it costs and for whom.

The problem

Political and economic decisions are often assessed through growth, efficiency and competitiveness. Freedom itself is not weighed sufficiently. Freedom only exists when its conditions exist, and those conditions are shaped by the economic decisions we make.

Freedom Test

Freedom Economics Foundation develops instruments to assess political and economic decisions by their impact on people's freedom. It shows what a decision promises, what is counted and what remains out of view.

Who we are

Freedom Economics Foundation is an independent foundation. We want political and economic decisions to be judged by their impact on freedom, and we build the instruments that make this possible.
